If you haven’t read the news, Carrie Prejean – Miss California was set to win the Miss USA crown but became first-runner up because of her response to Perez Hilton’s question regarding gay marriages.
When asked by Perez Hilton on her views on whether other states should legalise gay marriage like Vermont, the fourth state to do so, Carrie stood up for her beliefs and responded that a marriage is between a man and a woman, therefore no, she does not support gay marriage.
I think this severely pissed Perez off (as you can see in the later part of the video) because he’s gay if you didn’t know.
First thing that comes to mind is, why on earth is Perez Hilton a judge at a beauty pageant? He’s a celebrity blogger who indulges himself with gossip and a lot of trash media. Not only does he lack quality judging abilities, he’s even taken that response as a personal insult and insulted her intelligence via his website. Very unprofessional. Has Miss USA become the new Jerry Springer pageant show?
Anyways, I truly support her response as a marriage is absolutely defined as a union between a man and a wife. There’s no argument about that. It is under the covenant of God that a man unites with a woman and they become one to each other. The husband is a part of the wife, and the wife part of husband. Stop saying God made Adam and Steve.
If gay couples want to have some sort of formal recognition of union-ship, please call it something else but do not taint and tarnish what God has defined what a marriage should be. Should we start legalising marriage between a man and a tree or a goat if that person is a tree huger or is into bestiality?
Yes, sure they demand their rights and recognition – no doubt about that. But is this something we should compromise to accommodate their rights and freedom of speech? No, or else everyone will be queuing up to demand “their rights”.
I’m aware that my opinions may be insensitive (offending) to the gay community but I too am not sorry for what I believe is true and Godly. I do not apologise that God clearly condemns the sinful act but that does not mean I hate you as a person. If you do think that I do, well you’ve misunderstood me.
In fact, God has called us to love one another and remember that Jesus did not come to condemn you as a person but to make aware of your sin and draw you back to God.
Carrie Prejean, you are indeed the winner as everyone is talking about you and I support you for standing firm in what you believe is true. Heck, not even I know who won Miss USA.

Right or wrong . . I’m glad this Miss USA had the courage to state her opinion. It wasn’t some silly answer like “World Peace” but her beliefs. She could easily said the more PC response to appeal to Perez but stated what she felt was correct.
I too support Carrie Prejean for stating her opinion, which is founded upon the word of God. This country used to recognize the God of our fore fathers. We sing of our acknowledgement of God when we sing “America”(My Country, ‘Tis of Thee), written by Samuel Francis Smith. Aretha Franklin sang this song also on Inauguration day. Then we acknowledge Him (God) on our money. Now why is it that all of a sudden that we should over-look, ignore, forsake, the very same God that this country was founded upon. Why should Carrie Prejean opinions be held against her for speaking on the side of truth?
why are we allowing that Judge to preside when he take things so personal instead of having an open mind to judge on the side of truth.
Is it any wonder that your children are rebelling against you, shooting you in your own homes, turning to drugs, alcohol, and more children are being sexually abused, crime is at an all time high, more divorces are on the increase.
Is it any wonder that we have CEO taking advantage of company finances, people like Barney Madoff making off with people life savings, politicians that forget about their duty to their voters.
We fell to recognize the very same God that has held us together over the ages. When you leave God out you get a corruptible nation of people that lack morals, are self-serving, displaying personal greed and self-gratification.
Being Gay is about a sexual lifestyle not a culture of people.
Do you wonder about all the fires, the earthquakes, the tornadoes, the hurricanes, the devastation that is happening all over the world and the consistency in which it is happening.
America, where are your Godly morals?
Wow. I don’t know where to begin in this comment. But first and foremost, I HAVE to commemorate on your bravery in posting this blog. And then second of all, I want to offer you my greatest gratitude in supporting this point.
“America, where are your Godly morals?” in Pat’s comment basically outlines whatever I have to say. Really. I am speechless. At first I thought this blog would be about how the RIGHTFUL Miss USA totally screwed up and how she deserves to be burned in hell, but I literally squealed in excitement when I read what you wrote. Thank you SO so much for publishing this. America, the most advanced nation in the world, is deteriorating morally. Same-sex marriage, “equal rights”, and racism–I thought we were past these issues.
I agree 100% with what you wrote about the tree and the goat. I always use the example of sibling romance: since Americans are so insistent on equal marriage, all this “love is most unconditional” crap, what would America think about sibling marriage? The brother loves the sister, the sister loves the brother, let’s get married and make defected babies! Even to a fuller extent, the father loves the daughter, the mother loves the son, let’s get married and make a big happy family! Is that what America is going to turn to in a few decades? Seeing its direction just on the issue of “love”, it seems like when it is my children’s generation, sibling marriage would be the latest fad, and presidents and pageant contestants would be attacked if they opposed sibling marriage. This is why I support your statement about the treehugger and the bestialist. According the latest American rights activists on gay marriage, a man can be legally married to a tree if he loves it, because America has no morals, and because the man does in fact love the tree. Why not marry the two? This is just like the KKK justifying the “supreme race.” The KKK said that God wanted an Aryan race with all white-skinned humans. We all ask, how in the world do they justify such a point?? And now I ask, how in the world do the homosexuals justify that God supported love among all humans, so He would support same-sex marriage?? Like you said, since when did God create Adam and Steve because two men are allowed to have a romantic relationship??
I think that before Americans can whine about how the H1N1 Swine Flu and recession is screwing up the world and Americans, they should reflect on how they are screwing up God’s world themselves. Do pollution, encouragement on overeating (i.e. McDonalds’ chains and other fast food chains), and PROMOTION OF HOMOSEXUALITY ring a bell? God created such a perfect world, and just Americans, not even members of other nationalities, are screwing up God’s perfect world. We–and I am ashamed that I am included in this “we”–are deteriorating in morality.
Think about this: we are promoting free speech. Miss California speaks up on what she thinks about gay marriage (a damn right point, at that), and she is attacked by the judge and loses her crown. Is this what America has turned to?
I personally claim that homosexuality itself should be banned. Homosexuals be looked down upon for being immoral and wretched, and same-sex marriages, much less, should be banned in all of America. It is not necessary that measures like Hitler’s should be taken, where all homosexuals be murdered, but at the very least, America should gain back its dignity. Do Americans have any idea how people of other nations see their country? They don’t see equality and certainly not the united love of America, no. They see a horrible deterioration of morals, and see a glorious nation, to which they used to look up, dying as it promotes EQUALITY and most outrageously, “gay rights.”
I would like to thank Danny again for speaking up about the controversy surrounding the rightful Miss California. People like you need to be heard, and need to be believed in. And lastly, I would like to thank Miss California for sacrificing her rightful crown to make her voice, and all of us moral people’s, be heard by all throughout the nation. You are our true heroine, Miss California, and God bless you.
Fabulous post. Finally someone who is not afraid to stand up for what they believe in. (Both yourself and Carrie Prejean.
